TYPES OF
BODY SURGERY

Body surgeries, also known as cosmetic or plastic surgeries, are designed to improve the appearance and functionality of the body. Their benefits include improved self-esteem and personal confidence, as they allow individuals to feel more comfortable and satisfied with their image. Additionally, some of these surgeries can correct physical problems that affect health.

Abdominoplasty or lipoabdominoplasty is a procedure to improve the body contour of patients with excess abdominal skin, diastasis recti, scars, stretch marks, or fatty deposits. Different techniques are used depending on the case: full abdominoplasty for a large amount of tissue, mini abdominoplasty for an insufficient infraumbilical flap, and circumferential abdominoplasty for excess anterior and posterior tissue, common in patients with massive weight loss. The Tuluá technique is used for infraumbilical diastasis. The choice of method depends on the patient’s specific condition.

Liposuction, liposculpture, lipoplasty, or lipolysis involves removing fatty tissue from specific areas of the body using special cannulas that allow for selective extraction. At Majestic Plastic Surgery, we employ advanced technology to achieve the best results. We use Microaire for uniform extraction and Vaser to emulsify adipose tissue, improving skin adhesion and destroying fibrous tissue when necessary. We also employ retraction, a monopolar radiofrequency, ideal for patients with mild sagging. For volumizing procedures with fat grafting, such as gluteal lipoinjection, we use ultrasound, ensuring precision and minimizing risks.

Brachioplasty is a procedure that creates a harmonious contour for the arms. Excess tissue in the arms is common when there is significant weight loss or significant obesity. Over time, significant tissue changes also occur, often resulting in marked and significant sagging in this area.

Thigh lift, or thigh surgery, is a procedure that improves the aesthetic appearance of the groin. It’s common for excess tissue to develop in the medial thigh area after significant weight loss, or even just with age, which often causes both aesthetic and functional discomfort for our patients.

It’s common for some patients to desire larger or wider hips. This area of the body complements the gluteal region. When the hips have volume and correspond to a rounded buttock with adequate volume, it recreates harmony in the area, resulting in increased femininity and enhancing a completely slender and curvaceous figure.

The calf implant creates a visual change in the anatomy of that area of the body, allowing for increased volume of the gastrocnemius muscles and creating a pleasing visual appearance for our patient.

Gluteoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure that improves the shape and size of the buttocks. Ideal for increasing volume, improving contour, or correcting asymmetries, it can be performed with silicone implants or liposuction, where the patient’s own fat is injected into the buttocks for a natural appearance. Implants provide a more defined shape. Recovery takes several weeks, and it is crucial to avoid sitting directly on the buttocks and follow the surgeon’s instructions to ensure optimal results and minimize risks.
